Coach...a lot of Tx people wade fish and if you start getting into deep water you have to hold that sissy spinner higher out of the water to keep from donting that line twister.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

I can throw a PinkSkitterwalk 80 yards down wind.........no problem!! Not sayin the Shimanos are bad at all (I own 2 of them) but these are more bang for the buck reels hands down.
I have one and Mike had to rebuild it for me after 6 months of using it. I would buy the shimano any day over it. I guess I will have to try the Daiwa also.

You're right, I don't get the wading thing. If you ever see me wading, you know my boat sunk.

im about to buy a shimano curado myself... do yall have any recommendations between the 200E5 and the 200E7 model. the 200E5 has a 5.0:1 gear ratio and the 200E7 model has a 5.0:7 gear ratio.... what gear ratio do yall recommend?

World is different when you get in the water. You could make nearly any reel hold up if you didn't wade, and you babied it. If you are mechanically inclined and have a few minutes, a bottle of Reel X will make them all last longer. I got the Revo advice from a fulltime tournament guy, who is sponsored by them, and a reel repair guy who won't even work on them anymore. I'm glad that they work for you, and I'm not saying that my 2 cents is anything but my 2 cents.

E7, 6. whatever gear ratio. 5 is too slow and 7 too high.

The faster the better for me....You can always slow down, but can only speed up as much as the reel will let you.
