Now , John , I have never seen rigging a spoon backwards . With the eye and spot , the profile is exactly a shad . Very cool ! I'd like to see how the action is affected rigged that way . And I liked the other COPPER colored spoon .

That's right , Brandon , you're in Sea Isle this weekend . Have fun and give a report later . Yeah , Mike McBride paints red gills on his topwaters .

Doc , thanks so much for the link to Paul's side site there! I'm sure you just helped to put me further in debt! I love all the cool lure ideas and rarities showing up here. I have to comment on over thinking lure mods. . IMO there's no such thing unless you find yourself adding ceramic headers to them !! HAHA! even capt Kevin Cochran revises once he once thought was the only way to go so we as anglers always have to evolve on even proven methods... anyway , not trying to jack my own thread but I'm probably pretty loopy from lack of sleep waiting for tomorrow to get here so I can get to sea isle!
Reports will hopefully follow.

I'd like to have more input from Capt. Greg and DPOP . Heçk , we didn't win any WEA winter trout tournament .

yes ... You request what colors but sometimes he would call me and say they were out of such and such color and would I want a different color . Depends on what colors Paul is making . I've gotten colors not on the photo too . I like the copper top color a lot .Originally posted by fishingtwo View PostThink you can get those broken backs from Capt Bruce Baugh in lake charles. $10.00 each and 5 order min. + $6 for shipping

John , I haven't fished with you because I just haven't been fishing . I had stuff to be done or the weather has been crummy . I'm not fishing this weekend . I'm behind on maintenance of gear and tired . Saturday I have yard guys doing major stuff I need to supervise .

Harvey I use corkys so much because they are so dang effective . I said once that fishing with my crew of good fishermen that I walked over to water they had been beating with plastics for 20 minutes without a HOOKSET and I started catching trout on FATBOYS . Not that plastics aren't effective . It just seems to me that corkys are often more effective . I use spoons and plastics and tops , ED Special and such . They all have a place .

I've fished spoons without the tails. The flutter is equally sufficient either way. The tail makes it a bigger bait with an extra color flash. Key is to rig it with a split ring through the eye hole and small barrel swivel to make it work.

FISHINGTWO , call and ask about the peanuts . They use to be there with the brokenbacks . It's been a while since I was on the site . I'm glad I got some when getting was good . Hopefully he's still making them . I'd like to know myself . Like I said Paul is getting old .

John , I've seen spoons with eyes . Over thinking ? Nah . Does an eye make it a better lure ? Does a buck tail make it a better lure ? I know your answer to that one , Harvey . A plain spoon is excellent and catches fish . Extras if they give you more confidence makes it a better lure . I have an old friend and excellent fisherman who says buck tails lessen the flutter and action on the spoon . I can see that . I can see the color and "wave " of the buck tail being enticing .
