I also thought it was gonna be a free for all with my sisters but when I confronted them about it, they had no problem.

you would need to replat the property into two lots to make them separate. What are you trying to do? Put another house or sell?

And that ain't cheap...buddy wanted to do that for 5ft of his FILs property behind him...they wanted $8000. That's stupid!

help what? you need to call a engineering/surveying company and get a replat of your lot. This will legally divide the original lot into two new lots. New corners will be set and plat will be updated on the gis map. You'll also get a new deed for both lots and address for the new lot and will be able to get city utility services connected on that lot, water meter/sanitary. I don't deal with anyone on that side of town to know who to send you to. Call Tri-Tech Surveying or Arrow Surveying.
