Egg beaters are fine, but try the new Curado-I aint got one (yet) but brother does and it is very nice. I would say spend the extra $ and get the best-anything less and it'll sit there collecting dust and everytime you see it you'll think "what a waste". Go fer it!!
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

To be perfectly honest, I like it better than my Curado. I bought this real as a backup, but it is now my primary! I love my Curado and would always recommend one, but I like the feel of the Daiwa better. My Curado is 13 years old thought and never been rebuilt.

I bought the Daiwa at Fishing Tackle Unlmited for 139.99 and it came with a decent Daiwa rod. If you just by the reel, it is 139.99. I did a review on it a while back, here it is. Good luck.

Also, go to a tackle store and hold each one and see if you can tell a difference. You wont be disapointed in either one of the Shimanos.

Ditto...wanted to see if the Daiwa was smooth and it was, but I also just got the new curado e7 also...wonder which one will be my primary now.

Caz...you won't be sorry with the curado..got mine NIB on ebay for less than what they sell for in stores

No doubt I use my 700 for free lining bait off shore but I use my Daiwa SaltiSt 40H for Snapper trolling etc... I use my Stradic 8000's for pitch baits as well. Can't go wrong with Shimano

He's got 4 left. I wish that I could afford a few more of these, they're nice.

Good link here. All the specs and weights on most of shimanos baitcasters. Notice the chronarch bsvs are on a discontinued sale...thats a good price. A 51mg (lefty model) can be had for a good price too.

I'm thinking my next reel, other than offshore, will be the Core, but first I need Valero's stock to turn!

If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

You need to show me how to set the brakes on this thing on Saturday.

Push them all in, then pull one out. If you keep backlashing, pull another opposing side brake sleeve out. You'll lose distance though. I'd just keep chunking with one out until I find that sweet spot.
