But Coe, we prefer the term looting. It makes us feel more like pirates Yes the county workers gave us permission to loot it. They were going to throw it away.

When we got the load to FWE HQ this evening, we found some that someone had dropped off there, but I don't think it was the same stuff that was at the SLP ramp. Of the stuff we picked up, there is only one piece that is shorter than 8 feet. Some of it is 1 inch and a couple are 4 inches, with a lot of stuff in between. It was a pretty big load, and certainly a start if not enough to do all we want to do. I think you'll be pretty happy with it. And the price was right. 007 and coachlaw . . . . we are the dynamic looting duo.

I have a 19' Sea Pro I can help out with but it's not a shallow running boat, or i can ride with someone who has one if anyone needs an extra person in the boat to help install the poles.

Coe, I totally forgot to come by your house to drop off the money, so I am going to have my wife send it to you via snail mail. Although it does not look like we need all the PVC, I am still willing to help out on the tape, drinks, food or whatever else $ 100 will buy you these days.

Mike was actually the one that asked the guys. I keep asking them if we can have some of the gorgeous lumber they are pulling off of there, but they always say "NO. The county is re-using this." So I didn't even think to ask them about the PVC.

So Sandy, cause Mike was very vague, how many pieces would you say you gathered? Remember we were shooting for at least 100-200 8' long sections...

I'd say we got 30 20' pieces and maybe 25 shorter ones. Ask melwader to get a count on what's sitting there, we were in a hurry to get out of there.

I am just a poor kayak fishing college student, but I will start looking for PVC scraps when I'm out and about.

I think Mike's estimate is just a little on the high side. No pun intended. I'd say we probably got 40 pieces, but many of them are enough to cut 2 8 foot sections from. Probably 45% of it is 1 inch stuff. I hope that's not too small. Our important marker in Titlum is a 1 inch PVC, so I think that will work, but I ain't no pro.

1" is usually the minimum you want but it will work thanks guys! I'm going to still purchase more PVC and return if necessary. I'm going down to Galveston tomorrow night to grab some fishing equipment for my trip to Destin, FL and I will check to see what we have. I'm going to also announce over on 2COOL our intentions etc... I'd like for the majority of those that help out however be from this club / website.

                              Regards,

Also... when marking channels 8' is really cutting it close... You want a good amount to be above water at high tide so 10' is ideal.
