21', 50 miles out? Nutty. The boat was/is an Everglades, which is very nice, expensive boat, but sounds like the bay model, not offshore model and in 4-6 seas, let alone 14' seas, I would not want to be out there. Hope they find the other 3."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

I saw the capsized boat on the news looks to be an off shore boat. Deep V upside down. Wouldn't be any different than the 22' I run around but 2-3's and I am turning back 4'-6' are some big seas in that small of a boat.Originally posted by Robalo View Post21', 50 miles out? Nutty. They were 30 miles off shore when it happened, single engine boat, Nick Skylar was wearing a life vest when found. Coast Guard believe the other 3 were also wearing life vests some point early sunday morning the 3 got separated after the boat capsized late Saturday on the way back into Clearwater. They were anchored when they capsized Nick said.We are West End Anglers, a saltwater tribe!

If I had to take on a bad sea, it would be in my old 246 everglades for sure. I can't imagine tying off to anything but a sea anchor in those conditions. I wonder how much experience the captain had. Very sad unless they find the other 3 still alive."Nobody's so poor that democrats can't get rich screwing 'em."

I heard about this, sad. A guy a work withss son knows them all (he plays for the colts). The weather was good when they left, they had a mean front blow in on them and they got caught. Sad, I hate to hear about this kinda stuff.

I'm not sure why you would feel the need to throw out an anchor in rough seas, keep the bow pointed into the waves or run with the seas if you have to...
Anchoring leaves you at the mercy of the wind and current they don't always run in the same direction and swells can easily broadside you in situations like that. How sad!We are West End Anglers, a saltwater tribe!
