You're right I might have been a little overzealous with some of the things I said but to take a strong stance regardless of who it is is very important when it comes to our bay system to just because somebody donate a little money here or support a little thing there doesn't exclude them from responsibilities of having to take care of our ecosystem that they operate in so west protect the areas in the coast lines that we all have to share

Everybody is on the towboat guys *** on this one...didn't the ship run into the barge?? Not that it makes any difference as far as the pollution goes, but there were 2 boats involved...the ship had to have been going slow or he would have cut the barge in half...if you hit stuff in the fog the coast card is going to tell you that you shouldn't have been running in the fog, radar or not. I think there are 2 captains and a pilot who are answering questions on this one.

The cal regs state The primary outbound which is the ship has full right away. The bunker barge is a support vessel only. No matter which way anyone tries to slice it. The barge was and is fully responsible for this spill and accident. Accident isn't even the word. Negligence is more appropriate. The fog is hardly a factor. Visibility was 2/3 of a mile at horizon. That barge captain was NOT doing his job.

You said a hell of a mouth full there. Your absolutely right. The bay and the local fisheries and fishermen not to mention the economic effects this will absolutely have. America wake up. Yes our government is in disarray. But if we don't open our ears and listen to our planet we're all going to shed a lot of tears of what once was and never will be again. You know that moment when your just leaving in your boat to your favorite fishing hole but your just on idle? Tell me, at that moment with all the glorious sounds and smells the bay gives up you don't feel closest to God? Think for a moment if you could never never feel that again.
