San Luis Pass - Galveston Police Enforcing Rules

I was driving across SLP Friday from Galveston to Follet Island. The attendant was out of his booth, I assumed just feeding the 10,000 stray cats in the area. Well today he was handing out a flyer. See below.

I've noticed increased patrols in the area, a cracking down on of drinking alcohol on the beach etc.

All of it is a good thing, although the last bullet point I think is a catch all... "Reckless or Careless Activities"

No alcohol has been in the rule book for A LONG TIME!

These are the ridiculous ones:

No alcoholic beverages (I agree with no bottles)
No camping
No camp fires

Thank God for Brazoria County, where freedom still exists.

if they enforced the "no littering" on both sides of the bridge and handed out fines they could make a killing.

Guess Ill just stay in my boat now. Or to Brazoria county, like Sandy said. Is it still legal to consume alohol on those beaches? This sucks.

Just be careful,
In addition to safety BWI carries just as stiff a penalty as DWI and they have been out lately checking registrations, fish limits, ect..

SLP Sunday

I was at the pass with my family Sunday...lots of drinking, tents/camping, fireworks, and not much enforcement going on, at least between about 2pm and dark...

They've always had the no drinking rule, but as long as you are not bringing attention to yourself I've never seen them enforce it....

Man what a downer, so I guess a nice stroll on the beach is all they want you to do. Boring.
