ok guys i havent posted in a while because of not much luck but i think this should be a good reminder to be careful.
This sucks...... this is what happenswhen you dont know whats under water........ this happened early wednesday, i was getting in my kayak and stepped on something metal. It went through my tennis shoe and went into my foot about two inches..... My wife took me wednesday evening when she got off work to the emergency clinic, and it was already infected....... thursday surgery and i will proably be out till july 9th... they believe it to be the flesh eating bacteria.... they cut it open and put packing in. I am due for a check up tomorrow and i will post more pics tomorrow.......... Just please becareful, i wouldnt wish this on anyone

6/28/10 Well i didnt get good news from doctor... it doesnt appear to be healing right, it still has alot of puss and blood........ the pics dont look like much but let me tell you it is painful........ I may be going back in for surgrey again on wednesday or thursday... he will make the cut wider and to the bone if he has to go back in . Oh but my wife wouldnt take the bad pics of the nasty oozing stuff lol.... prayers please

I'll keep you in my thoughts, I've been through something similar with two severe cases of staph infection...I still have the scar under my left eye from surgery to have it removed. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life.

Hang in ther Cowboy get well soon. I can tell you lurefisher,barham and I have a friend that is an old timer we call the "legend" hes been fishing this area for 50 years. he got flesh eating bateria and they has to skin him from knuckles to elbow. Hes lucky he went in early. Had a small cut on his hand and that crap jumped in there and ate it up. He told me the doc said two people have died this year from the same thing. One was a 21 yo girl. Crazy stuff never know.

Wishing you the best recovery, I know all to well myself. Missed 6 months of work from a staff infection after ankle surgery. Thought that rascal would never heal, maybe a wound care place would be helpful?
