  • Tropical Storm Alex

A minimal TS should be off the coast of Belize this morning. Where it will go after it enters the gulf is anybodies guess. The models are all over the place right now. Monday when it hits the gulf the weather liars will have a better idea.....maybe.

Most of the models show it hitting South of Brownsville.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Let's hope it keeps going NW and not NE, that would really mess up the oil spill clean up!!!

Some of the best fishing I have ever done is right before the storm. During tropical storm Francis I would fish between the squall lines coming throught and tore them up.

I was here for Francis, it came ashore at night. The tides were a lot higher than forecast and it ruined a LOT of vehicles and everything down stairs.
I think the fishing was good before the storm. The debris line was right down the middle of 3005.......

Shoot, I guess I need to take one for the team. Looks like you up-coast boys 'n' girls will miss out on all the Alex action. Latest prog shows a Cat-2 right over my house. Am thinking about boarding up and leaving. Ain't gonna be nobody fishing here except some crazies. -sammie

I would rather this sucker speed up movement, and hit as a low category hurricane than to have a lot of time over the mid-Gulf and build to a higher category storm. As for fishing during the storm, I hope everyone learned a lot by Rita and Ike. Nothing to mess with. Board up and head for higher ground. Good luck to those in its path.

Rita didn't touch our house. Ike was a different story.

Noon report showed more NNW movement with track forecasts centered on brownsville/mansfield and possibly Corpus. I wish it'd hit TTU (Lubbock), not TTU Wader (Alex).

Expected to be Cat 2 by tomorrow.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary.
