Absolutely true story. I have 3 witnesses. He was feeding on a flat with his whole back out of the water. I steadied the rifle on the side porch railing of my old camp and I popped him with one shot. Paddled out in the pirogue to pick up the quary. I had hit him right behind the eyes and the whole back side of his head was gone. No scope.
