Could really use some help Saturday

We will be pouring concrete Saturday for the War Memorial in Dickinson and could really use some strong guys and wheelbarrows. We are not going to be able to get the truck close enough to pour striaght into the form so wheelbarrows are our only choice. If any of you can spare a couple of hours Saturday morning it will be for a really good cause and very deeply appreciated.

Here is the information on the when and where.

Saturday, February 13, 2010
Arrive between 8:15 and 8:30 am
Instruction begins at 8:30 am
Concrete arrives at 9:00 am and wheelbarrow brigade begins
Where:Gazebo park on Hwy 3, south of FM 517, just south of new Dickinson City Hall


If you can make it and/or have a wheelbarrow we can use please post up or send me a PM. We are trying to get a head and wheelbarrow count.

My strong back left a few years back as well, but I might have one wheelbarrow load in me.........

I have a wheelbarrow is someone wants to stop by and pick it up (Seabrook). It would half to be this week sometime. Leaving for Buda Texas early Friday morning.

Just a thought but I have to ask if anyone has looked into working smarter. There are a couple of concrete pumping companies in Dickinson. Maybe one of them would be willing to donate a pump job to the memorial......

Tried, but no one offered to donate their services. The budget is too tight to afford to pay one.

Too much. It'll be much easier with 5 or 6 wheelbarrels.

I found a company that charges 100 an hour and a100 dollar trip charge and 2 dollars a yard fee. I bet we can collect that here...

$100 both ways with a 4 hour minimum for 15-20 yards of concrete?? I don't think so.

Mike there was a hoard of guys that rushed me today pulling out of Jack in the Box they all were yelling "TRABAJO" and came running over to the car as I was cutting through the parking lot. I grabbed my rodeo badge and said "immagracion"
