That's nice youir getting him a 12' jonboat, but that is pretty small to have in the bay-even along protected shorelines-very little freeboard-ya may want to consider a 14'. My worthless $.02.

I was thinking 12', but I'm thinking you all are right that I should go to a bigger size. I am worried about weight since the thought was to be able to haul it up on the dock without installing a runner . The boat is only intended to put around in clear lake.
I'm still confused on how hard it is to get a title. Sound like half of you all says it's hard and the other half say no problem.. shrugComment
