Boy it'd take 5# of butter and 10#s of dressing to get that thing done up right. What a doormat!

How was it caught? I would guess it was caught in a net.

That's a wonder to behold, no doubt but the caption in the picture happens to be wrong.

The state record for Southern Flounder is 14.5 lbs and went 34.5" long.
It was taken by Davey Wright in 2002.

The chronicle a few weeks ago, ran an article that said the State Record was taken back in the 1976 or so in Sabine Lake by a guy last name Endicott I believe. But this was a rod and reel record I think. Maybe Davey Wright gigged his.?

Correct it was taken by gig and not a spear gun. It was also harvested off shore around a platform

I would like to know what method the fish Chester holds was taken.
A good guess is by a trawler becuase the caption would read new state record
but still probably not mention by rod and reel.

The fish is bigger than the state record by rod and reel but it is not "The State Record".

I was wrong on the paper, i read that in the GDN when that kid caught that big one a few days ago.

The State Record for rod is reel is that one in Sabine Lake and still holds as the record; and this other guy gigged the bigger one.I look it up on the Parks and Wildlife site and its called the record taken by other means.

Big a**** Flounder. I lost the picture of the ones me and ap rounded up a few years ago and they was one that was at least in the parking lot of the ball park as these.
