Have you looked at a small blue wave or kenner? You can get one in the 4-6k range. They can take some chop, get good gas mileage and can get you somewhat shallow. We got a 17' 1999 bluewave used about 2 years ago. The little yammy on it has been perfect, only drawbacks are limited storage and it's cramped fishing on it with more than 2 people.

I'm always hauling stuff and that will continue as long as I have a camp. Gotta have a lot of room for ice chests, people's bags, etc. The only glass boats I think I would ever consider is a Carolina, a Marshall like Dookie Ray's or a Shoalwater like 007's. Wouldn't want a V-hull. That leads to a lack of space. Storage is not a consideration at all. The only thing I keep in the boat is a tool box and PFD's.

I got to see RonnieC's Shoalwater in action this weekend......he's your neighbor and I'm fairly certain that you can get a pretty good deal on it. Ask longpole about it, he fished out of it.

PS......Ronnie is one cool ole' dude that makes a mean omlet.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

I know Ronnie very well. He's a good neighbor and a great dude, but I'm not interested his boat. He wants more than I can afford even if I sell all 3 of mine. I'm even less interested in any omelettes.

Just posted my 14 foot flatbottom for sale down in the garage. If I can sell it quick, that will get the deal rolling for me.

                Sandy,

Don't call him to make an offer. Just drive up there with cash $4000 in one pocket and $500 in the other.

You can make offers and bids all day long but nothing makes the deal better than cash in hand.
