Whaddya'll think about this boat deal?

Here's a link to 2cool. I sent the guy a greenie complimenting his boat and wishing him luck selling it, but that Tyler is too far for me to come look at it. He PMs me back that his brother lives in Angleton and would be happy to bring it down for me to check it out after Christmas. I reckon if I sell 2 of my boats, I can afford this thanks to some money I'll be getting that my grandmother left me. What do y'all think of this?

I've always been an aluminum lover, but I've always liked the look of Carolina Skiffs too, though I've not had much experience with them personally. I reckon I'd probably offer him $4500 if it checks out, I think I could swing that if I sell my boats.

It's defnitely an upgrade if you are into fishing, but I gotta ask why? You don't do a lot of fishing. Or, is it because you are too busy working the camp, but once you get it done, you'll be fishing?

Looks really clean! I actually saw it last night looking around over there and thought it looked like a good deal. Never ridden in one but I've heard they're a bit rough in the chop.

I love mine and thats alot newer, I am gonna upgrade next year too and I would definately be in the market for that boat! The motor is very clean probably never been off lake palastine or coffee lake I would jump all over that Sandy

Good question. I've always been a fishin' fool. Since I got the camp, it's been a lot of work, but I always found time for fishing anyway. Then Ike came and I kind of made a deal with myself that I wouldn't fish much 'til we got the place back together. I think I also got a bit more like my dad in the last couple of years. I enjoy watching people fish from the porch almost as much as I enjoy doing the deed myself. That being said, the Ugly Mudda is a great fishin' boat, but I'll have to put some money in her to take care of her leaks. Likewise with the Gray Ghost. I'm thinkin' it might be better in the long run to sell these and get another boat.

I've never really wanted a fiberglass boat before, and I think I like the Carolinas a lot because their design is so much like an aluminum flat bottom.

I just wanted to get y'all's opinion on this particular deal. So keep 'em comin'. - Sandy

That would be a reliable upgrade to the Mudda and of coarse we all know they have very good reputations.
Little story...I went out with some fools that a had a 16' Carolina Skiff. We launched out of Morgans Pt. and headed to the Baytown Spillway at night. I did not know this and I would not had made the trip if I had but a strong cold front hit us, hard.
The C.S. took a pounding but got us home. I really do not think a 16' Jon would had made it safely home.
I say, if you can swing the deal then do it. I think you would be happy.

I know they're unsinkable like Whalers too. That's another thing that attracts me. The only real downside I can see is that I would feel downright strange captaining a pretty boat.
