REVO STX or PREMEIR, 6:2 ratio. Like the DIAWA, magnetic brakes are great. Stays dry. I said it before,my Shimanos always got moisture in them.

So, I have the attention of all the die hard shimano guys now.... in digging through my garage I found a ton of fishing tackle that I need to part ways with. I'm going to post up a mess of stuff later today, but I have three orriginal Curado 200 reels that need to depart from my garage. They could all use a good cleaning, but all are in working order. Anybody want to give me 75$ a piece?? More stuff on the for sale page later, but it will include several All Star Titanium rods, 3 Sage fly rods, and some other stuff that I need to catalog.

Why dont you just gather it up and come to the tackle swap tomorrow night at Capt Doug(Wilson's) house in Shoreacres. Should be a good turnout. You might unload some of that stuff there.
PM me for directions if your interested.

                      shallowist...
let me know if ya have any of the old greens like these two..Shimano screwed up big time-when they quit these..
As for the rest of the story - price wont get you quality nor reliability..I have used just about everything under the sun..to include Diawa,Garcia, etc..I fish a little different than most on here..I do alot of Surf fishing and my favorite is chasing specks with my Curado 300 with a Emerald edition All Star..something else not made any longer..hope you know that I was just talking smack -your vs - mine..rods and reels..
I usually fish ALL day long in the surf-From SLP all the way back to The Wall. And I have- as you can see-two of the original Green Curado's..still in use today..YES-they do get moisture in them..but nothing I have ever used was able to prevent that when you wade all day long between the first and second gut..Get your Diawa ready my Curado's are alwyas ready..maybe sometime this srping we can go cast for cast..would love it..

actually looking at the pics, yours are gen 2, right? those look like the super free model. had one of them too, hated it.. sold that thing quick, or gave to a good customer. don't recall for sure. You aren't alone in your position, that's the entire state of Texas that thinks Shimano is THE reel. Daiwa won't spend the money for the prostaff and marketing necessary to make them better known. I pushed on them for 5 years.

I just posted the 3 that I have with a pile of All Stars and other stuff on the garage/for sale page.

BTW I'm good with the jest, I don't take that personally, you shouldn't either. but my stuffs still better than yours..

oh really : well I say I can outcast you and your Diawa with one hand tied behind my back, paper sack over my head, forty mph north wind, standing in water up to my neck and throwing a 1/8 ounce jig -while you were throwing a Large Zara Spook --and still outcast you..

The old greens were unbeatable, the next generation sucked.I have the e7 great reel but not as good as the original.I tried Okuma 3 trips it was garbage.Scared to try anything else.Think thats most folks problem.Spend the money on a strange reel and it don't work out.Money down the drain.

That was actually a customer fish on a trip that Pimp helped me on. it was on Pimp's mag and the gears were forked after that fish. We were about 20 feet apart when he hooked the fish and I grabbed him and started walking. took about 25 minutes to land!!

Personally I have landed four this year about that size, all wading and all on my slightly less expensive Daiwa, which by the way performed flawlessly. Pimp was along for two of them. Gears don't even think about failing!!!!! Drag, unbelievable!!!!

I'm pretty quick with the big fish, raised in South Florida catching big stuff like that.
