I've always liked the looks of the fluorescent pinks and chartreuse. I've been told that the 51's are more for boat fishing but I'm guessing the level line tie will keep the lure down some , maybe?
I wonder how many people have old mirrolure plastic in their fillings ? Ha!

I only have 2 of these. And 1 is so worn out but still catches fish. It used to be bubblegum colored but not anymore. I really want more of these. They work great for me on the beach front in summer.

There is a guy at the end of my road that sells a lot of these types of classic style lures. However he's rarely there except weekends in summer. If I see him and he has some ill pick up 4 or 5 for you.

I like 51-52 mirro-lures. My favorites are 11, 23, 26, 28, HP, CH, 807, 808, Texas Chicken, shoot, how did I miss this thread?

Brandon , the 52 are for boat fishing , tie on the top of the head so it would run level . Back in the day , texas waders ... No one waded but Texans ...would take out the screw head tie on and put it in the nose so it wouldn't dive for shallow wade fishing . Finally , Mirrolure caught on and started making them with the nose tie on . The 51 Mirrolure was born .

You can buy a better product from Paul Brown himself . Paul lives next door to Capt. Bruce Baugh who retails Paul 's lures on line . See www. Tidelinecharters .com where you can buy corky brokenbacks . He sells " peanuts " , a small football shaped corky which are killer in spring time matching small bait . I went online and didn't see the peanuts but maybe that's because I'm on the iPhone . Paul has to be in his 80's and if you want a real Paul Brown original , you should consider ordering if you are a collector or just want good plugs .

When you go to the website click on PHOTOS . Click on the picture in the upper left hand cornor . There I saw the brokenbacks . He use to have more colors than pictured there . I didn't see "peanuts" . I hope Paul is still making them . 3 years ago my crew of 8 guys stayed at his rental next to his house . We got to see his inventory and I pawed through it all and bought about $120 of peanuts . Ordered brokenbacks when they came out . It won't last forever unless one of his sons take over . But , it's not made by the legend , Paul Brown .
