Hmm, I know a thing or two about cancer being in the field I'm in and I don't really think you know what you're talking about. Maybe some crazy-azz antibiotic-resistant bacteria, but I don't see any DNA mutation going on here. Maybe you can enlighten me though... I think we are far more likely to get cancer from all the smoking, sunlight, and alcohol (and in that order) we are exposed to.Originally posted by Ibtsoom View PostYou get cancer from eating that crap if you want its a free world -- to each their own. You been reading too much cca magazine. Whatever they print is the absolute truth you know!
As for taking the Tide mag as the absolute truth, not really. I'm not even in CCA, and when I was, they never sent me the dang mag anyways.
I'm not boycotting gulf shimp by any means, I'll eat 'em up and would buy them if that deal came along, so I'm definentely not hardcore anti-shrimper.
HOWEVER, what I'm seeing is that you don't think that those things tear up huge swaths of the gulf floor, and kill easily 3:1 bycatch to shrimp. Just because you like eating them, you've dug your head into the sand and ignored facts. That's fine, we will both go ahead and continue eating them, but to say that shrimping isn't damaging to the ecosystem (just because that's the way you would like to imagine it), is wrong.

All I did was make some boiled shrimp and a pot of gumbo!
