Next time tell the guy the limit is between 24" to 28" maximum, so his snook shoulda been at least 24". Can't tell exactly by the pic, but it would be stretching it to make 24", so he should have released it.


A darn good rule to follow is:

If ya don't know what it is and what the rules are, release the fish. It may save ya some hefty fine by the GW.

water quality has been improving. Each fall we've seen more and more snook catches coming out of the Brazos, San Bernard, and Colorado.. I think they summer high up in the rivers in deeper water, no-one goes after them / not enough known about our local snook.

I hear of some being caught in the Christmas area a few years back, but this is the first I have heard of one in some time. Shame he did not release it.
