Anyone know what kind of snake this is other than a dead one? It HAD the classic diamond shaped head a few minutes ago before it was dispatched with a .40 cal varmint load.

looks like a cotton mouth to me but its hard to tell with its head blown off. either way, dead snake is the best snake.Comment

My LEO neighbor just came by and confirmed that it was a cottonmouth. Fangs and all. I'm glad that our little dogs didn't come across it first.I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.Comment
