Thanks for the tips Thomas, I've been banning and adding each IP... IE. 89.208.9.xxx I am excluding the XXX and banning the 89.208.9 so it catches .001-.999 Also banning people on Joomla side as well... Once they taper off I will go through and prune out the banned users... So far I think I'm up to 50 either banned or deleted...

Just in case y'all did have a contest, I had 144 spam emails when I woke up. By lunch I had 40 more. Since lunch I have only 6. Hopefully it's tapering off. I was glad to know that someone thought I needed a breast enlargement though.

    SPAM messages...

    Coe,

The site got a lot of web traffic post hurricane Ike because everyone was wanting to see pictures of the destruction of Galveston that you so nicely provided everyone with. Unfortunately there is a price that comes with being noticed. Spammers notice you too and decide to tie up your forums with their crappy spam advertisements for Viagra and whatnot.

I am an internet marketer, however. I don't mind sponsored advertisements from local Texas businesses wishing to promote their products to people who might have an interest - such as coupons for the local bait shops, restaurants, handymen who would wish to advertise their services to help clean up the mess, etc... these type of advertisers would be welcomed here and could help pay to support the operation of the West End Angers events.

Those are my thoughts on the subject. Perhaps after banning and IP blocking each spammer you will eventually wear them out.

Looks like Shad is having the same problem with spammers on his board. My email issues are likely unrelated to the sites. I was just spit-ballin' ideas. I've gotten 50 more since I last posted! I wonder how many I'll have when I wake up in 5 hours? Maybe we should have a pool. How many spam messages in Sandy's email by the end of work tomorrow. $5 a square, proceeds go to a keg at the first meeting I make it to. LOL!
