Nite time beach front fishing taking plan...invite.

A few friends and I are planning a trip to fish SLP beach front between the troll booth and the water tower either Tues or Weds nite. Set out the surf rods and kick back with grog under the stars so if you want to join up give me a call @ 281 339 6996.
I think I will bring trout gear for dawn patrol just in case I stay up that late or am able to get up that early.

I don't think I've ever driven across the SLP toll bridge on a weekend afternoon and not seen someone stuck in the powder that runs along it.

It sure was soft out there Friday night. Yakum and I went there. The tide comes is really freaking fast. We had 2 spot lights out and some kids thought it was an invitation to come play in the lights.

We had to leave b4 the tide came in too close for my 2wd truck to be able to get out. We had Chucks cell # handy jus tincase we got stuck. There must have been about 20 people stuck while we were there, One dodge 2500 broke their rear drive shaft, Ouch.

We drove as close to the water as possible to get to were we set up.

I am looking forward to this night. No wife, no kids, just buds, beer and beach.
I'm bringing some gigging gear. Sometime during the night I'd like to work the shoreline
from the point of the surf all the way to just past the bridge about 100 yrds.
Even the Tundra is a 4X4 so I'm hoping I'll be ok even though I have
street tires. Anyone else that's local is more than welcome to come
on down even if it's just a hour to share a beer and your knowledge.
All of my group works at the LaPorte DuPont plant and we'll have
one beach newb with us so I hoping for the chance to use one redfish
tag, box a small shark, poke a few flatties and land a few during dawn patrol.
Now that would be cool for a newb to see!

I made $100 on Sunday pulling people out in my Tahoe... I should have been there all weekend.. Back in HS I used to roll around out there and make $500 on a good holiday weekend

Watch out. I thought the rain would pack it a bit, but it is still very soft. Stay on the trail to the beach and you should be fine. 4wd should be good in most places.
