So would it be legal to anchor a houseboat in West Bay?

    Something simple like this:

Surely you can. It's probably a question of how long you can leave it out there. I've got a friend that's a warden. I'll give him a call and ask.

I don't know how long I'd leave it in saltwater before having corrosion issues with the motor.

What motor? I'd use the Gator-Tail and another boat to move it... This thing would just float...

oh. I C. That changes everything. I doubt they would let you leave it out then as it becomes a floating cabin and would need a permit.

maybe you can push it up on a spoil island and brush it and claim its your hunting blind.

Can you get a permit for a floating / movable cabin... I'd pull up to Blockade Runners for a week then they'd kick me out... So I'd move over to Christmas somewhere then get chased out by Sasquatch and others

My dad has a 36' pontoon houseboat similiar to the one in the second pic. We installed par 64 fishing lights on it and mounted a generator to the roof. It is a great nightfishing platform. Plus you can go in and get away from the skeeters! Not a good roughwater boat though.

Redheads would still land next to it
