  • SLP / West bay conditions?

what's up west enders. anyone have some good intel on the water conditions? tides up? green water lurking around still?
i fished the SLP last weekend and specks, smacks, & flounder were biting all day. fished with skrimps & finger mullet on floats & bottom... when i wasn't fighting off the jelly fish & man-o-wars .... nasty & evil!

Wind supposed to go back to the south this evening. Incoming tide early in the morning. Falling the rest of the day. What do yall think? Early morning or late afternoon bite? Im going sometime tomorrow.

With the green water very close to shore in Galveston, it should be green in all the passes.

I would try to go in the early morning. Hopefully the S. wind won't have churned up the surf too much. Hey, might just have to go tonight too just in case

Well I will be behind the Pass/West Bay very early tomorrow morning trying to catch come of the incoming tide before it goes slack. Winds are supposed to be light early. Good luck everyone. Bring lots of beer in case you run aground and get stuck like that other dude. LMAO!!

I am here on the island now and the wind is blowing good out of the north, but the bay is looking slightly green.

                  Just an update.

In JB and looking out the wind has died down. I'd say 5mph or less.

Bay waters look good but the canal has a slightly murky brown to it.

The tide is fairly high, came in this morning at 8:23 for 1.1ft. Low tide is 1:12am at .3 feet. Two tide days all weekend with high and low moving forward about 30 minutes each day but at about the same 1.1 for high, .3 for low each day. That's obout 9 1/2 inches between high and low so the bay will be pretty full all weekend.

Bay report calls for 5-10mph winds and smooth bay all weekend until Sunday night when it's supposed to get slightly choppy and 10-15.

I haven't been to the surf but it has to be pretty good with this small amount of wind, or will be flat soon.

                  Good luck and tight lines!
                  Joe

The surf from Woody's to the Flagship is on fire right now!!!! BountyHunter, boom, FlatoutFishin and myself killed them on anything soft plastic with a tail.

Boom is going to do the report.
