I think you answered your own question. Both are great fish...thanks for the pics and the stories, too.

      LMAO....

I'd say its a toss up. I dont ever really keep score on that; unless it would be over 30..and ive never caught one that big.

Ive caught a few around 28 with last time being spring(08) w/ moonpie wading in snake island cove.

I thought you told me that your PB was under 30 y.o., not 30"-didn't know you liked circus acts!! Gotcha!!

Most of the stuff you read and hear from people in the saltwater game talk length over weight when it comes to big fish.

My biggest fish is a 26 1/2" that went 6 1/2 pounds on scale. I just caught another 26" last week, so i'm waiting to move up on the scale a little bit.

But to answer your question...it's what matters to you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm still waiting on that magical 30" fish to put on the wall.

Well I acheived both of the first goals I set -28" and 8 pounds. My next goal is 29" and 9 pounds. After that I'll bump it up to 30" and 10 pounds. However if the that 30 inch 10 pounder wants to take a go on my next trip I won't complain....

I'm gonna say the one you caught Friday, because it came on my boat.

You do seem to have established quite a proprietary interest in his fish.

Mike did have a big role in that catch. He put me in the right place, he kept me pumbed during the fight, and coached me. The biggest thing though he manned the net and did a great job of not getting it in the way when the fish decided not to go in it. So in short, I couldn't have done it without him!

my best was 30 inches and 9.4lbs.I think anything over 28in. and 8lbs. would be considered personal best.

I've caught a 27" pencil trout on live mullet in the dead of summer, and scored up a 24" trout on a plastic in the early spring that went close to 5.5lbs. I was happy either way but I still got that stinking feeling that I may get one over 30". I also think if its under 30" it will be over 8lbs and I will have permagrin from ear to ear. SO, if its over 8lbs or 30" I think I would be extremely overly beyound happy! You deffinatly nailed a nice fish.
