Grew up with a/c. We lived in a trailor for about 6 months while we were having a home built in 1990. On friday before 4th of july a/c went out and could not get it fixed until the following monday. It was 116 degrees in the trailor an all my wifes candles and the shower curtain melted. Was working with a guy that grew up without it and had only gotten it when his daughter got diabetis. I would go to work at night after being in that heat all day. I didnt even mention it. I knew i would get no sympathy. He was one of the toughest guys i ever knew. Went to his house to eat fried catfish on evening before he got a/c. We were eating at a table in the kitchen where his wife was frying fish and we stripped off our shirts and ate fresh fried fish dripping with sweat. The day they installed his a/c his wife was sitting on the front purch plucking a chicken to fry. When the a/c crew pulled up she started singing amazing grace. I tend to do the same thing every time i walk past the thermostat. Was blind but now... "I SEA!"

Man, that's really cool Rocky. Youtube can be a very cool thing.
SHEWT! They had remote controls in 1961? I was the remote control for my family until we got our first remote when I was 11 in 1984. Who remembers having to adjust the rabbit ears for every channel? Or the dad gum vertical hold? From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

I grew up living on the Bay in Baytown and we did not have A.C. Just an attic fan. As a little kid I would thumb tack the bottom of both sides of my curtain to the window frame so the wind would focus downward on my bed. The kids now days have no idea how good thay have it!!!!TRUSSMAN
