Look for the possibility of both brands going on sale at the upcoming fishing show. They did at the boat show and had I waited a month I could have saved almost 200.00 with F.T.U. Paul advised me to buy Great White. Its working well,so far.Cant imagine not having it .
I have a Motorguide that is 14 years old now, had trouble at first with the old circuit board. I upgraded to digital over 9 years ago & no problems since. They both make good ones today & I think some of the electrical problems has to do with poor quality batteries & loose or corroded connections.

Weve got minnkotas on the tin can and the bay boat. They are good motors! No problems. When we were looking at which one to buy the motors looked very similar though.
Whatever you do make sure you get one that when you turn the handle it doesn't click .Meaning infinite speed settings . The ones that click only have 6 or so settings .You will findout at times you want a speed in between the two settings where as the others are infinite in there settings.
