With Coach posting all the pics of his progress on the camp, I thought I would jump in and show my little project. The wife has been trying to get me to build one of these for 2 years now. Well, I was only home one weekend from late Sept 08 - late Jan 09 due to hunting and she didnt give me any chit about being gone that much so I figured she deserved her patio/porch/pergola whatever you wanna call it.
First dug the holes
Next set the posts (8-9 bags 80lb concrete each hole)
Then notched the posts
Next built the main beams and hung them
Then cut and ran the rafters on the top
Im tired........
Only thing left to do is run square 2x2's across the top for added shade/support and then pressure wash the deck and put treatment on the whole thing. Anybody got suggestions on what to treat it with to keep the new wood look that willl last a couple years?? I dont want a stain.
