  • Boat Collision at the Causeway??/

Dad just called asking if I had heard about the boat collision at the causeway. He said it happened this afternoon, and that they were still looking for people. Anyone heard of this??

I did see a red coast guard boat milling around the area at around 1 or 2 ish on the way out of Galveston. Hope everyone is ok.

Wow that's pretty heavy. Let's hope everything turns out alright, although I've heard of some bad boat wreck stories, they never seem to turn out well.

GDN says they capsized, swam to shore and went to their hotel room and are safe-real smart.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. It gets even better!! From Chronicle:

A Coast Guard helicopter and two rescue vessels were summoned Monday to look for two men, age 71 and 20.

The search was halted late Monday night after the men were found at a Galveston hotel. They told authorities they swam to shore after their crafts capsized.

Union Pacific officials reported the vessels near the West Bay railroad bridge between Galveston and the mainland about 11 a.m. Monday. A Coast Guard statement says both vessels were apparently homemade of wood with green tarpaulins used as sails.

I wonder if one was Barry Obama, Huh??? Dumb enough to be him.

What a waste of manpower! You didn't do anything wrong, but if something as bad as that happens, you should probably report it.

You are supposed report all boating accidents to the authroities, plus these braindead idiots left debris floating so some innocent person may hit it and get hurt and/or damage their boat that isn't some plywood nailed together with a tarp as a sail. MORONS!

                    Send them the S&R bill.

JJ Ault, 71, and his grandson Spencer, 20, set off on a sailing adventure on September 9 on two 13 1/2 foot sailboats that they built themselves.
They left from Kingfisher Beach in Port O’Connor, heading down the coast to the tip of Florida.

Adventurous doesn't equate to idotic. Seems to me they were pushing the envelope a little too far, plus to leave after sinking when they should have known others saw them and likely reported it. Could have been much worse for them-and nobody would have known what happened to them and likely many more hours would have been spent searching for them-next time at least carry a handheld radio or a "SPOT"-still idiots in my book.
