I am currently experiencing the same great level of service. About two and a half weeks ago, I called their Parts Dept to inquire on new hatch lids for my Blue Wave. I gave the partsman my hull number and a description of what I need. I gave him my call back number and my email address. I haven't heard squat!! I am an automotive partsman and if I extended a level of service like that, I would be looking for a job. Maybe the Ron Hoover parts guy will be surfing the web instead of helping his customers and come across this thread. Hopefully he willl straighten his act up.

It looks like I'll be spending my money elsewhere.
Had basically the same thing happen to me twice in dealings with them in the spring. I didnt give it a chance to happen a third time. I got my tail in my truck and drove to Houston for a $26 part as oppose to dealing with him a third time. That guy needs to find another line of business its not his calling.

I have been running boats for a long time and I am no repairman, but the best and most honest service dealer I have ever dealt with is Busha Boatworks in Bay City. They are very quick and acurate. Been using them for almost 6 years and never a problem. Great people to work with!!!

i should print this thread off and drop it by to them on my way home from work tomorrow. i was in a bind w/ the trim switch going out and went to them because of a local mechanic recommendation. they did a great job with that, but hit me good on the 266 hour service!!! now that my trailer is freshly lubed (included in the 266 hour service for 5 dollars and some change), it's in tip top shape to make the trip to bay city.

If you do that, I bet my phone will ring with the price quotes I have been waiting on.

Hoover scewed a buddy of mine good on a 23'ProKat. The boat has stringer issues and had twin 200 Zukes, bottom line is....ProKat went out of business because of this and Hoover is still trying to sell these ProKats, Stay Away!!!!

I bought a brand new boat from Krolls Marine about 24 years ago and it was the worst exprience of my life. The service was terrible, my brand new battery was stolen out of their lock up yard and the best they would do is replace it with a used battery that did not last very long. (No Apoplogies from them about the suituation). By the way the 20' Allweld boat that I bought from them fell apart in less than 2 years. Sold it for scrap. I will never do business with them again and I would not reccomend them to anyone!

                        Michelle,

What switch went out, the one on the motor or the one on the binnacle.... If that ever happens again and its the one on the motor, you can disconnect it and the one on the binnacle will work fine and you can order the replacement switch for $50 online. Same thing happened to me.

I would NEVER recommend Hoover, they are a complete waste of time and a joke to the entire industry... You know Dons the best, but Knowing Mark K. at Coastal backwater I would definately give him a shot, since he now has the best suzuki mechanic in galveston/harris county working for him.
