Have fun down there! I talked to my other guide Mike Lowe today, he was down there all last week hanging out with Danny Nue. They shamoked the reds and Trout In Mansfield. Small gold spoons and any Devil Eyes in red & white.

Have a great trip and best of luck and weather to you.

Good luck and have fun. I love fishing down in PM. I try and fish it at least four times a year but its hard to get away from the SPI snook fishing.

well we made it back alive, barely! Left last thursday at 2:30 AM and headed for corpus. Made the usual stops for bait, ice and fuel, got to the bird island basin ramp just after daylight and headed south. After getting to the camp and being unloaded by 9:30 am or so, we piled in the boat and headed south to redfish bay, just north of PM. We heard good reports from this area from a week ago. We drifted in 3-5 feet of water and picked up our 15 trout limit ande 1 redfish in no time, so we headed back north to the house. That night fishing under the lights was phenomenal. I was wore out but forced myself to stay up just to watch. At any point in time, you could see around 20-30 trout swimming through the lights and a few hundred shrimp popping. We caught 5-6 more before going to bed.

The next day we woke up early and headed back south and had the same results, 15 fish in 2.5 hours. We then ran all the way back to the boat ramp to pick up one more guy, and thought we would go back down there and clean them out. Right around that time, the wind shifted and the fishing turned off, completely! We headed in and later that night, the lights were good but not as good as before, but we managed a few more fish. Well that was about it for the trip, hate to bore yall with more details. We had a lot of fun, drank way too much and made it home with 40 trout all over 16" and 1 25.5" redfish. Great trip, I cant wait for next time.

Also, I didnt know it but my 2 buddies who I went with are now members, so give them a shout, tam0204 and jdm, they own the camp down there.

It was slower than we like it to be, but was still good to get out of town. If anyone wants to fish during this week, let me know, I am free.
