That bull could do some damage... thats fo' sho'
It was tied off to a tree floating in the ICW they tried to revive it but it was a goner. When they went back or something I think it was gone... they did report it though from what I remember.

we caught a 5 ft. shark on the north shoreline last summer.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

The mako or bull? I had no idea Makos came into the bay (call me stupid). I knew there was a damn good reason I stay in the boat!!

I saw about a 4-5 footer running the flat out of Snake Island Cove about 4 years ago...thought it was a school of reds and veered of to run the inside and hopefully sneak up. I got up on the console while making the approach and saw the fin, and then the body...definite Bull!
And for those that love to fish the drop behind San Luis Galveston side... I saw the biggest shark I've ever, (easily a 6ft fatty) seen from land back there....came out of the gut unannounced, slashing and gashin mullet every where, before becoming stuck on the sand in about 1ft of water then thrashing to get back to the deeper water. Witnessed the brute do this 3 times. Now ask yourself....how many times you've waded the drop off of a channel/ gut back there?
              Don't be a Nancy!
If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Saw a huge bull one time many years ago run up on mosquito island about 20 yards from me. Needless to say I didn't fish there for about 3 months. Say a 4-5' black tip cruising about 15 yards in front of our wade last year on the south shoreline. He was just steadily cruising away from us.

I see Bull sharks every summer all over the bay, every shoreline, back lake, and canal. They seem to have a route they run through the cove(s) early and late feeding.
My closest experience fishing was wading Caranchua reef catching good trout on a Corky Devil off the South end where the old ICC cut the reef. The trout were inhaling the devil and coming up shaking like they do. I was releasing the fish one after another. About the forth or fifth fish came up thrashing and as I lifted the rod bringing the fish to me...... I reached down for the big grab. At that moment, out of no where, a 5-6 foot Bull Shark blew up on the trout, and as it made the turn after the grab, the tail hit me and almost knocked me down!
I got back in the boat!! LOL

I know that the jacks have been in there this last week...maybe you saw them. Saw another group of jacks in the CANALS of Sunset Cove on Saturday afternoon thrashing the bait. Saw a big bull caught in the surf on Thursday so they could be in the bays by now but I would suspect jacks...

Mako was in there after an extreme high tide & rain event.

I thought it was from a tropical storm.
