    Mike,
Have not been able to give you a hard time lately, but dang give the fish a break! The oil spill did not help their cause at all.

          Mike,
i have been on a 30-40 man person party boat out of Destin. Took two 12yr olds with me. We all had a great time. Caught a bunch of snappers (beeliners?). I think the cost was around $40/$50. My son had a big one on (mate said grouper), but he came off.
If you are interested I'll try to hunt down the name.

There is supposed to be really good ling fishing around there. Saw a show where a guy was catching them near shore off the beach in a boat. Might be something to look into

Thanks for the information Torque and Fishcatchr. Don't think we will do a party boat, but near shore for ling would be a blast. I emailed a few guides I found online, hopefully there are good.

I was born and grew up fishing in that area. If you are looking for Tarpon and Snook , you need to head further south. Tarpon are stricly migratory in that area, and rarely come into the bay or flats. It is very simuilar to our tarpn fishery here. Snook are about as existent in Destin as they are in Galveston.

That being said, end of April is prime time for Cobia off the beach. It is pure sight casting and it is a blast. You will need to book a charter still.

                  Tidalguide,
Thanks for the feedback, I have been talking to several giudes and you are right, the Cobia will be hot that time of year. Thinking about getting a guide for a half day and fish nearshore for cobia and might make a trip inshore (deep sea for FL) as well.
