  • Robalo needs Servicing...

Well I'm almost sure it will need some type of tune-up its been sitting since Ike... We bought it from Texas Marine at Nasa Rd. 1 right near Hwy 146 and usually take it there for servicing... Any suggestions on steps to clean the fuel up etc. We did put Stabil in... I'm sure the batteries are dead maybe I should try and run it after replacing batteries? I just don't want to have the same fuel restriction problems that I've had the last 2 years!

Robalo has needed servicing for about over the past 25 years; but alas, there have been NO takers..(not including the "for hire" variety.)

With the stabil in the tank, you should be alright. I would have the batteries tested. If they are bad, you will be refunded the prorated difference of the life battery. The refund will be applied to the new batteries you purchase of the same brand. (If they are bad)

Do a carb job and replace the fuel........

Batteries are too easy to simply replace.....walmart/ academy deep cycle...

Since your doing it, water pump, lower unit oil and new plugs

Go get a fuel filter, change it out, pump up the fuel ball and put the ear muffs on it and turn the key.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

No carbs, just injectors! Stabil will keep fuel good for 12 months!

I highly suggest shocking your gas with PRI-G. I use it all the time on my Yamaha 150 Four Stroke. It is recommend by Chris Mapp at Coastal Bend Marine or check them out at: http://www.priproducts.com/Clients.htm

Thanks MW- I'll take a look at the product and replace both Water Fuel Seperator and Engine Fuel Filter... You know there's like 3-4 filters on those dang 4 Stroke

Mell knows the story of my engine I think he's watched Beach Bum Bailey & I unload the dang boat 3 different times only after making it 60' into West Bay realizing we had fuel issues...

Batteries are dead... TX Marine said they'd prorate the battery cost I wonder if that means I have to buy the battery there? I think I have 4 on the Robalo. 1 starting 1 reserve 2 trolling
