  • Hey Coach! Found it!!!!!

It was hidden!! I just found it when I was putting my life jackets back. I'll wait 'til Thursday and pitch it in the trash right before the garbage truck dumps it. I haven't opened it yet.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Do me a favor and keep the cooler. It's my dedicated bait bucket from now on. I'm glad the mystery is solved.

                Umm Gumbo!

Ummm Doughnuts-I mean fish stink-gurgle! Whew, that had to be bad-trout/shrimp gumbo. Once left a snapper in the Grady for about a month in fish locker-next time using it, we knew immediately we made a boo boo-was really gross. Snapper soup.

Once I had a breaker throw when I was away from the beach house. Happened to be the one that the deep freeze was hooked up to. Had lots of trout, reds, chum in buckets, piggy perch, shad, squid and I don't even remember what else. Needless to say, when I opened it It was a little surprising. But I was actually able to get the smell out with a lot of bleach. Fish gumbo is right!!

Guys, both the scrimps and fillets were in ziploc freezer bags. I don't think there will be much of a smell unless the bags pop or get punctured. I've dealt with worse. Clorox as said, and baking soda.

Mine were in bags too! But once the melted they fell down to the bottom and busted open! Sat there for three weeks.

I dealt with my parent's fridge and freezers post Katrina. Cleanout with soap, cleanout with clorox mix, toss baking soda and charcoal in and close. By the time they moved back in a month later, everything was ready to put food back in. The funk gets gobbled up pretty good by the baking soda. I tried the charcoal because my neighbors told me it worked. Had a bunch of non-starter soaked (non-matchlight) charcoal I put in a towel and hammered into small pieces. Here we are 4 years ago and they still have the same appliances. You'd never know anything happened to them.
