Thinking about raising the console

Hey Mike, you do realize that everything going to your console is going to have to be longer, steering, control cables, wire's, ect.

That's another reason why I want to do it. All of the controls and cables are about a foot too long. I'm only gonna raise it 8".

You just gonna build an 8" box and raise the console itself? I thought you might be putting a raised platform for a leaning post as well. If you get all of the glass work done I cant imagine it costing much for the finish paint work. I'll talk to my old man and see if he knows someone. He's been doing fiberglass work on boats for years.

I'm raising the leaning post too. The whole thing will be 3 1/2' x 5 1/2'.

Neither.....2 x 8 white pine and 1/2" birch plywood(that I already have) and 2 coats of glass. It may weigh an extra 50 pounds max....probably closer to 40.

Why not just raise the helm with a mini tower? If it would fit under the house I get a short remote helm
