  • Thinking about raising the console

I'm very confident that I can build the deck and do all of the glass work on it myself. The only concern that I have is what it will cost me to have someone spray the splatter to match my existing finish. How much do you guys think it will cost me to have 50 sq ft of splatter done? All input accepted. Thanks.
I work just enough to pay for my fishing habit.

Dunno Mike, it prolly costs more to get a guy with the right rig to make a service call than the material itself, unless you can find someone with the right kind of shooter.

LOL, if you want it in quick-set drywall mud, I'll do her for a 12-pack! You want 3-color epoxy, now whats about like the cost of Rhino Liner, maybe $150-200 just guessing?

Why not go smooth finish like the pros, and put a coat of Imron over it when you got her slicked out?

007 did they use a gun or free hand on the last splatter job? if they went freehand you may be able to do it yourself but if they used a gun you need to find someone with a splatter gun and i dont know if your going to be all that impressed with the end result due to past experience.
I have an uncontrolable desire to wanna jerk my rod.

Ed Harper at safe floor has the spray rig to do that kind of work, he said it shouldn’t cost much but couldn't give a quote without seeing it first.
          Ed's #281-435-5904

I think that’s it, they are in the process of moving to that shop now. His old shop is off FM-518 and Anders lane. Ed has done a lot for me over the yrs and I have always been very satisfied with his work.

Hey Mike, you do realize that everything going to your console is going to have to be longer, steering, control cables, wire's, ect.
                A Little deeper in debt.

.....and you'll get less fuel economy, but you might stay drier!

If i was doing a raised in your boat Mike I'd go aluminum stand. Remember glass is heavy, you add weight you sink...just saying that's something to think about.

Just put in a burn bar and steer with your feet! LOL

Oh I see, he wants to take off the console, build a false deck including your captain's bench, and then make the plywood look like the flooring once taped and coated in epoxy. I'll tell you now that the manufacturer's texture can never be matched perfect although you can come close. But there are a bunch of scooters that had that done down here, pretty nice. Good luck Mikey, you're gonna like that!
