Negative! United States Marine Corps, I was just aboard a Naval ship in transit to the middle east, we detoured south along the east african coast (somalia) when it heated up 2 years ago, then stopped off in Kenya which is south of the Equator.

I've heard that it is a fun day. The pollywogs aboard the aircraft carriers are forced to drink from the tie down cups on the deck. The enlisted shellbacks get to harrass the pollywog officers and such.
