WOW! What a great weekend.
This weekend I had the opportunity to fish with Robert from team Fight’em Fair at The Xtreme Redfish Tournament at The Top Water Grill.
Robert’s partner Josh is on the DL and I was bumped up from AAA as a free agent to be traded for a player to be named later.
Robert is like Magellan. He takes that baby cat in to uncharted waters to find those redfish.
We started our morning working through rat reds, the lower slot reds, then trout, and then BAMO! Robert hooks up with a solid 27” and then we run the whole cycle of fish again.
On our third cycle of fish I hook into a solid 27 15/16” red that went 8.4lbs and Robert got an up grade to 7.8lbs.
About 10:30am, our big girl wasn’t feeling to well so I spent the rest time nursing her, hoping she would make the trip home. We arrived back at the Top Water Grill at 12:30, pushing her back and forth in the live well till the 2:30 weigh in
Jen and the XRT crew did a great job of running the tournament and the Top Water folks were great host.
Of all of this year’s tournaments, this was the most fun. Not just because we won (though that ain’t all bad) but everyone appeared to have a great time. It was a great opportunity to meet new and old friends. Jimmy Lloyd and Benny had a little sing song. Bret “FLASH” Sweeney got to tell about the physical properties of electricity. Sawyer/Jordan was there with their families… I t was just a plain good time.
Thanks again to all for a great weekend.
