tidalguide: YOU ARE SORELY MISINFORMED AND APPARENTLY BELIEVE IT (HEALTHCARE) IS FREE-IT IS NOT FREE-YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BUY IT-PERIOD. Don't forget the employees at minimum wage-let's see, the average policy runs about $600-1700/month and you make minimum wage, so you must buy the insurance because McDonald's or whatever company would rather pay the penalty than provide coverage (providing coverage would almost double their employee expense/cost, so they will not provide the insurance and it is cheaper to pay a "fine" than pay for the insurance -which BTW, the employee is taxed on the amount the company pays for the insurance now under the new law and it is reported as income on your W-2), so Susie Jo making minumum wage must pay $600/month herself, plus her rent ($500), gas ($150), electricity ($100), cell phone ($90) and her monthly income is 40 hours per week at $7.25/hr x 4 weeks = $1160/month. Guess what, Susie Jo can't eat, drive or stay in an apartment-she now lives under the Pierce Elevated eating "Squab" for dinner.

Tidalguide-I don't know where you are coming from, but I think you fail to understand that forcing someone to buy insurance when they cannot afford it is absurd and Susie Jo will have some hard choices to make-should she starve to death, live on the streets or "obey the law"? What is your answer? Under ObamaCare, insurance is NOT FREE-YOU PAY FOR IT AND IF YOU DO NOT, THE IRS WILL FINE YOU!! WAKE UP.

Since you seem to be pretty well informed and have read it cover to cover can you please point out the sections of the act that:

1. Call out that health insurance must be purchased over food.
2. The minimum income level to qualify for the subsidized care.

This will help me in my research.

Get the insurance companies, big oil, banks being bailed out of taxpayer pockets and you'll be able to afford the healthcare, groceries and mortgage on a 35,000 salary and fish all you want. If you are working minimum wage and struggling, my heart goes out to you. I'd rather pay for your food stamps than corporate welfare any day. Course I'm a Democrat. My niece was on Medicaid -(she had Down Syndrome) and was diagnosed with a chest cold when in fact she had swine flu and died from it due to the crappy doctor's misdiagnosis.
