    TIDALGUIDE;

TO IMPOSE A "PENALTY" ON CERTAIN GROUPS OR PERSONS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL--YOU CANNOT PENALIZE ONE PERSON TO THE EXCLUSION OF OTHERS-IT MUST BE ACROSS THE BOARD OR IT IS A PENALTY AND IS UNFAIR AND UNJUST; THEREFORE, UNCONSTITUTIONAL. IT WOULD BE LIKE PENALIZING YOU FOR BEING A DEMOCRAT.

    From John Culberson:

It is deeply disappointing that the Supreme Court refused to protect our liberty by upholding Obamacare. The Constitution clearly limits the ability of the federal government to intrude on our personal liberty. The liberal judicial philosophy that the Court wrongfully embraced means there are no longer any real limits on what the federal government can force Americans to do. As a practical matter, the Supreme Court decision means that the power of the federal government is truly limitless.

It is particularly disappointing that Chief Justice John Roberts was the decisive vote. He sided with the most liberal members of the Court and created an unprecedented expansion of federal power that obliterates our individual liberty and validates the biggest tax increase in the history of the United States. From now on, as long as Congress calls it a tax, federal power is limitless, and we can be forced to buy anything or do anything Congress wants us to do.

President Obama, the Democrats, and the bill itself all say Obamacare is not a tax. Yet, as the conservative Justices said in their dissent, the majority saved the bill by declaring that it is indeed a tax. In fact, it will be the largest tax increase in American history. The majority literally rewrote Obamacare so they could save it from being declared unconstitutional. I have never seen anything like it in many years of reading Supreme Court opinions.

This November's election is our only hope for salvation from Obamacare and to save the America we know and love from being converted into a bankrupt European style socialist cradle-to-grave welfare state. Barack Obama was serious when he said he was going to transform America. He just never told people what he was planning to transform us into before the last election.

Obamacare and all its disastrous results now belong entirely to the Democrat Party. Every Republican in Congress, and a decisive majority of the country, strongly opposed it, but they have forced it on us anyway. I look forward to voting with my colleagues in the House for a full repeal of Obamacare on July 11th and replacing it with free market reforms to bring down the cost of health care insurance.

Congress can begin by changing the law to allow small businesses to pool together to negotiate insurance rates as a group so that they have the same negotiating power enjoyed by big business. Congress should also allow people and small businesses to buy health insurance across state lines and create coverage for pre-existing conditions with high risk pools. Congress should also enact sensible medical malpractice reforms just as Texas has done. You can read more about the specific reforms I support on my website.

Americans must have the freedom to make their own health care decisions without government interference. Working together we can make sensible reforms that will lower the cost of health care for all Americans and expand access to quality hassle-free care. You can always count on me to represent you as a free market Jeffersonian Republican who is totally committed to the restoration of the 10th Amendment sovereignty of the States and true individual liberty, just as the Founding Fathers intended.

This is the largest TAX increase ever, maybe not in proportion to GDP, but in AMOUNT of TAX REVENUE. We are talking TRILLIONS over the next 10 years. Your citations reflect when the entire US GDP was less than the amount of this TAX. You can spin PROPORTIONS and rate them back to 1942 or 1980, BUT OVERALL, THE NUMBERS ARE HUGE AND EXCEED THE GDP OF 1942 AND 1980, SO TO SAY IT IS NOT THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE IS TRUE, BUT MISLEADING-JUST AS IT IS TO SAY IT IS THE LARGEST TAX INCREASE EVER IS TRUE-15 TRILLION IN NEW TAXES IS THE LARGEST EVER-PERIOD, SO MY STATEMENT STANDS AS TRUE AND SO DOES YOURS; HOWEVER, IN LIGHT OF TODAY'S AMOUNT, I'D MUCH RATHER HAVE THE TAX FROM 1942 OR 1980 (NOT PROPORTIONALLY TO TODAY'S GDP OF COURSE, BUT IN OVERALL AMOUNT). It is called "SPIN". You take today's percentage, not amount and apply to percentage of GDP in 1942-hell, the GDP in 1942 was less than this TAX today.

REGARDLESS, YOUR INSURANCE PREMIUMS WILL GO UP SUBSTANTIALLY. Fishing guides will have the same right to BUY insurance as they do today and the guides without insurance last year and prior years did so on their own CHOICE!! I will not give money toa benefit for a guide that is dying because he didn't have insurance-he had every right to buy it last year, two years ago, 10 years ago, so that guide made a choice and if he did get cancer, he signed his own death warrant now didn't he? He made a choice to not have insurance-he could have bought insurance and had less money for food, entertainment (beer, whiskey, women) and maintenance, but he didn't. Today, the guide will pay the same as he did last month, six months ago or last year (subject to price/premium increases) and it WAS his choice whether to have insurance. Now he MUST buy insurance and failing that he is TAXED for not buying it and could lose everything for failing to pay his TAX due to enforcement rights given the IRS. So will the future Guide Benefits be for a guide's new home, new boat or pay his bar tab because now he has insurance but cannot afford his home, his bar tab or his boat maintenance?

I doubt you have ever been audited. I doubt you know the true workings of the IRS. I have and do. My ex-wife worked in Collections at the IRS. I know R.O.'s. They are not "nice and friendly". The IRS can take your house, car, savings, wages and let you live on the streets. Actually, you can even be sent to prison for failing to pay the tax. Is that what you truly expected or wanted from healthcare reform? I hope not-if so, you have severe issues beyond healthcare reform.

WTH is it my responsibilty to PAY for some child? Maybe the penalty for not tending to your children should be death? Maybe killing the irresponsible parental units is a solution to welfare as well as aiding healthcare. After all, if not buying insurance can send one to prison, why not instill the death penalty to the irresponsible parents?

I should not pay for your child's insurance -YOU SHOULD AS A RESPONSIBLE PARENT!!

not sure if this has been posted on this thread.it is pretty interesting
Well, Obamacare is now official, which means that a lot more people in the United States will have health insurance. And it also means a lot more people will be paying more taxes. (You didn't think Obamacare was free, did you?) Here are some of the new taxes you're going to have to pay to [...]

Great link NK. Thanks. I am incorrect as to the IRS taking your house, car and wages-didn't know it was limited as to what IRS can do-geez, am somewhat amazed in that since the IRS folks I've known can't wait to mess with taxpayers' lives-bet they are disappointed! Still am unhappy about a new TAX which was sold to the USA as not a TAX and is. Yes, the Tax will be the highest amount ever against citizens. I wonder if the Illegals OBama granted amnesty for will pay the tax/insurance? Or will they just declare 15 dependents and offset any taxes with BS dependents like they do now and with no threat of enforcement?

One fact is certain, premiums will rise and YOU will be forced to pay them or pay a TAX.

Because it's not the Kiddo's fault. In our last OB visit, the family in front of us were meth heads... I will gladly pay extra to help kids.

Agree to a point, but also believe the Parents should be arrested and kids taken away-not a perfect world, but best the kids be outta there and in a foster home or anyplace but a meth head's house. I would believe that the parents should be brutally/harshly punished beyond losing their kids. I don't have the answer, but I believe we are too lax on the causes and react after the damage is done.

Agree 100%, and I think the law should extend a step further and sterilize the parents! My major issue is the lack of providers who will not take part in government payment due to lack of getting paid in less then net 60 periods. I would like to see money go towards repairing medicare and streamlining gov payment processes. I am not in favor of giving out free healthcare just because you suck at life.

I do like the piece of the bill that does not allow insurance providers to decline coverage to you though. I have a condition that could theoretically allow insurance companies to decline coverage to me, and I pump a **** load of tax revenue into this country every year.

That's when companies with 50 or more full-time workers must provide health insurance the government deems fair and affordable. If they don't, then fines are triggered as soon as a single worker turns the government for help.
The penalty doesn't count the first 30 workers, but charges $2,000 for each one after that. A 50-employee company would pay $40,000."

"Kneller's company is in the minority of those that would be affected. Of the nation's roughly six million employers, only 200,000 are large enough to be hit by the 50-employee rule. The other 97% are not."

"Will it make sense to hire the 50th worker? Would it be more profitable to stay small? Should the customer service department be outsourced?

The law has the potential to cap her company's growth, all to provide an option Clary said her team doesn't care for. Last month, she asked her staff whether they'd want health insurance, and all but two said no. The others said maybe.
"They're single, young, healthy. They'd rather spend it on a movie or dinner," Clary said. "The government probably shouldn't be telling us what to buy."

...so it looks like it would make more sense to stay under the 30 employees (full time) and either hire temps or outsource in order to stay under the cap as is dictated in the Health Care Law as it is today?
Looks like that would put a real crimp in any additional hiring that needs to take place in order to get the country out of the hole we are in these days.
I can see this spurring economic growth!
