  • F#@% teal season

Tried teal season for the first time this year. Talked with game wardens, looked up info, and talked to many others who have hunted teal before. Got the gist that Anahuac was the place to get em, so me and some buddies went to middleton tract at Anahuac WR and had one flock decoy while 2 other just did "fly by's". I noticed the teal were flying high and near the intracoastal, so we tried mcfaddin WR this saturday and didnt see a single bird. We tried different spreads from 3 dozen to only one dozen with 2 mojos. I'm just in the dark with the whole situation and its frustrating to do all the "right" things and have such a terrible outcome. Probably not gonna hunt teal next season just had to get it off my chest and see what yall had to say about the situation.

Going back to what I do best until big duck season!!!

I know how you feel! Hunted teal for the first time yesterday in west bay. We saw hundreds way up high and had one do a fly by and that was it... Very dissapointing just gotta wait for November now!

Went dove looking yesterday evening. saw LOTS of teal flying very high along Austin Bayou. Figures they are piling in at the end of the season. We saw close 15 groups of birds moving.

Don't even bother with big duck season either. Not enough birds and you are just gonna get sleep-deprived and mosquito bit.

I would recommend chasing big trout in the bays instead.

^ this, but I have a few places for you to run your boat through on your way to trout fishing. Preferably after shooting time. Thanks in advance...

Words spoken by a non duck hunter..........I would rather kill one drake canvasback than catch a 30" trout.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

Hes being sarcastic. There are alot of bay hunters that dont want others hunting the bay... The bay can be good and the back lakes can be even better. lol
