Flappers are best IMO and inexpensive at this place. http://www.duckworksbbs.com/hardware...0500/index.htm"GET OFF MY REEF!"

If they're installed properly they work fine, particularly on self-draining boats without a bilge. Their purpose is to let water out, not keep water out.Originally posted by coachlaw View PostJust my humble opinion, but I've never seen a scupper that worked properly for any period of time."GET OFF MY REEF!"

If a self-bailing boat takes water there has to be a way to let it out. The flappers work fine for waves or splashes. They will leak under pressure, but not as much as without!Originally posted by kenny View PostIf they're installed properly they work fine, particularly on self-draining boats without a bilge. I do not understand why the scuppers are wearing out? Letting water in doesn't mean they are faulty... They are designed to let water out who gives a crap if water gets in as long as it can get out... A plug is not the answer for sure...We are West End Anglers, a saltwater tribe!
