  • SOLID TROUT West Bay 1/23

    Water Temp. 62-64
    Winds SE 10-15 mph
    Conditions: Perfect!

Started fishing a Southshorline cove late Friday and in to the night. A few big trout busting my topwater and corky, but not good hook ups. I was determined not to leave until I landed one. At dark, I could not even see my topwater working, however I saw the explosion. Landed a solid 26. Today I concentrated on mud and shell taking advantage of a mega incoming tide. It was "katy bar the door". They were feeding big time. They were eating up my corky devil......by the way, thanks Chip for that Christmas gift. Unfortunately I missed some really big trout......that single hook corky devil tends to do that sometimes. For the most part I stood in one spot and hammered em'. It is really nice to fish these warming trends and low pressure.

                        Holy Moly

I told my fishin buddy we needed to get on the south shoreline in that strong SE wind and it was almost dark, so we didn't go. We caught a couple like that on the north before we went in. Beautiful stringer!!!
I have never caught a stringer like that in 45 years of saltwater fishing. You need a big framed pic of that on the wall.
DID YOU SEE THE SPEED BOATS? THEY MUST HAVE BEEN DOING 70-80 MPH. WHO WERE THOSE GUYS. I could see them from the north shoreline. They were haulin'.
                        Way to go !!!!
