  • How long will the run last?

I have not got to fish for the flounder yet and was just wondering how long it will last?

From the slow start it should last a pretty good ways into Dec. You still have time -- get at it!

              LOL at Gilbert

My season doesn't even start until December 1st. After this date, say Dec 2nd they will all be harvested by the gig.
I say go get 'em while you still can.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

Alot of the big females won't even leave the bay system. Some of the bigest Flounder I catch are in December through February. Fish areas with alot of soft mud and you will catch them.

Lots of flounder caught today at Seawolf by waders. This report came from a friend. I couldn't go because my back is out.

You can still get out there and go gigging all winter and still see a few, just depends lots of variables in the winter

Thats where most of mine are caught on shorelines and coves with a softer bottom. The last few years some of the coves have produced some really nice Flounder throughout the winter months. On the colder days they will be out a little deeper in guts or channels that run through the coves. On the warmer days they can and will follow the bait run up into the skinny water.
