It's pile driving time: Blockade Runners 11-13-10

Well, I'm posting this a day early to try to get a feel for how many guys I need to buy beer and food for. Here are the details so far:

TRP 150 will show with the pilings at the ramp around 7:30am. It will take 2 runs to get them out there. We haul them out of the boat. We dig a hole as far down as we can, pretty easy digging out there. We set up the A-frame above the target and haul up the piling. We set the piling in and turn on the pump with a few people hauling down on the piling and the help of gravity, we get it down to the target depth. 4 16 footers and one 12 footer and the tough part is done. The frame and walkway come next and we'll get done what we can get done before a big supper and fishin' under the lights.

Tom will be there and hopefully Bob as well. Me and VJER are in and TRP says that although he may have to cut out after delivery, he may be able to leave an indentured servant with us. The more the merrier, and the faster we can get it all done. So let me know if you can come out. - Sandy

The weather liar this morning said rain Friday and Saturday...I think 30% or so

I have David and Nina wanting to come. David would be a very good hand. We are looking to spend the night but if its to crowded we can head home after the work. If its a tight squeeze I can find a corner to sleep in.
Nina and I would be next to useless so if thats a crowded problem I would easily understand.
My boat is down for maintenance's so we would need to be picked up at the ramp.

Yes, we do have a 30% chance of rain on saturday. If it rains too much, we'll still be able to get the pilings out there and drive them, but I may call off the framing. We'll just have to see.

Bert, everyone is welcome to come out and stay. You and Nina can play support crew if you don't mind, you know, gettin' folks beers, fixin' lunch, etc. We can sleep 10 in real beds if David and Nina bunk together. I wouldn't worry about the crowd. Someone will be able to pick y'all up. Everyone bring gloves, boots, and a change of clothes. This will likely be a dirty job.

Any contributions to the pot are welcomed, but I plan to do as I always have and feed and water (beer) everyone that comes to help out. I'll have what looks like 3 cases of various brew, beef ribs, pork ribs, sausage, taters, corn, and onion for boil, and beef fajitas. It's almost oyster time too folks!

VJER will have some chicken and sausage gumbo for anyone that makes it out Friday night.

I live next to San Leon and buy them at the Oyster House close to Top Water, way fresh and cheap.
