User Fields , Searches, Posts etc
Earlier we had a major corruption of the user database this caused us to revert back to our back up's backup which was done on August 11, 2010. Needless to say we (Thomas & I) as well as those effected are upset at the situation. It is unfortunate but some 400 users that had registered will now have to re-register if/when they do come back. We have many users that register to view photos then never come as is common amongst Forums, or users that never post just lurk.
Webmaster T and I spent 5 hours this evening fixing all old posts & threads. During the upgrade process user fields were moved to "Guest" you may have noticed earlier that threads that had originated prior to today had most if not all the users listed as that. We have fixed that issue. NO posts were lost! This includes those users that have to re-register, you will still see your posts & threads you created and until you re-register we can't link them back to you! We are sorry that PM's got deleted, this happened when we had to revert to the old file which was backed up in August. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do since we had to revert to the older backup.
Avatars, users will have to update their avatars should they wish to have them. You can edit your account & information via the usercp panel, http://www.fishwestend.com/forum/usercp.php Signatures, Profile Pictures, Avatars, personal information you wish to share etc can all be edited from this interface it is labeled "My Settings" on the very top of the page where you sign in on the Forum.
We will be slowly working the old site's feel into the new upgraded forum this has been our plan all along. Bare with us, we are only 50% done with the updating, their is still a lot of customization left to do. Trust me in that it will be very user friendly.
Post Counts have been updated, the search field is currently being updated so you can search for users posts, keywords etc and it will go through ALL post & threads not just the ones from today.
