  • Little visit to Breakwater Marine today.

When they say they specialize in marine electronics they mean it.
It's a small store front but half of it appears dedicated to Higher end GPS and plotters.

My Garmin 545s took a dump so I took it up there for a bench test.
I want to say I paid near 1k for it but the boss said he would ship it off to Garmin for me and it would be fixed or replaced with a refurbished unit for a $189 flat rate.

Considering my options I had it shipped.
I really like that Garmin and can't see me without it

If you serious about hi end marine electronics I'd recommend this store.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

That's why they are sponsors here. They will set you up right the first time! Heck you can even have Derek teach you how to use the equipment properly!

Give Derek at Breakwater a call for all your marine electronic needs.

I managed to put a plug in FWE and Breakwater on the outdoor show this morning.
A caller wanted to know who could check out they're GPS unit.
I had mine bench tested at breakwater and it was bad. The unit retails around 1K and when the store told me they could send it to garmin for a flat rate of $189 and it would be repaired or replaced with a refurbished unit. I was impressed and said yes-send it.
If you go to the store tell them you heard about it here.
