They've been doing that for some time on the back of yaks!
Yeah, they're supposed to work pretty well for small layout boats, kayaks, canoes, pirouges and such. Even small 10' jon boats lightly loaded. There is some pretty good write ups on how to make them if you do a google search, I looked into them a couple years ago to put one on my layout boat, just never ended up following through. Overall cost tends to be in the $300-$500 or more range, depending on what kind of weed eater you get and how much you pay for it. To have any reasonable power and speed, you really need one of the big, commercial weed eaters with a 50-60 cc motor and even those, you cant really go through "mud", its just more of a small, versatile, air-cooled outboard for shallow water.
Still a pretty neat idea though.

I guess a jet propelled version uses a leaf blower.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
